The world of Kpop cannot be separated from concerts and merchandise . Events such as fan meetings and fansigns are also mandatory agendas for Kpop idols . Several agencies have even released documentaries on the life journeys of idols to recall their struggles from before their debut to becoming big and well-known names. It is not uncommon for several agencies to also release their concert documentaries, such as what the large agency SM Entertainment did for one of its artists, namely NCT, in its film entitled “NCT Nation: To The World in Cinemas”. NCT Nation Concert
Before we discuss the setlist , let’s first discuss the NCT Nation concert.
NCT Nation is a solo concert held by the SM Entertainment agency featuring the full NCT lineup. The NCT units that appeared in the concert were NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U and WayV. This concert was held in South Korea on August 26 2023 at Incheon Munhak Stadium. Then on 9 – 10 and 17 September 2023 this concert will be held in Japan, precisely at Yanmar Nagai Stadium and Ajinomoto Stadium.
It turns out it didn’t stop there, the Idol concert with the jargon “Tho The World NCT!” which has a fandom called NCTzen and is pronounced like “Sijeuni”, was summarized and broadcast again in the form of a documentary entitled “NCT Nation: To the World in Cinemas”. The film was shown in more than 50 countries around the world. The film can also be enjoyed on ScreenX, 4DX, CGV Indonesia and Cinepolis.
The premiere schedule for this film is December 6, 2023 and will then be shown on December 10 in cinemas throughout the world. Meanwhile, ticket purchases can be accessed starting November 9 2023. For CGV Indonesia and Cinepolis, ticket prices are set to start from IDR 150,000. Several NCTzen fandoms in Indonesia even held nobar or “watch together” events . so that fangirling and fanboying feels even more fun .
Setlist Leaks
Recently, X social media residents were shocked by an OP who had watched the film when it premiered on December 6 2023. The OP, who comes from Thailand, leaked the setlist and concluded that there were many songs that were not featured in the film. This is because the film only lasts 103 minutes, while the original concert lasted 5 hours. Unfortunately, some of the songs that were not featured were songs belonging to the NCT U unit which many NCTzens had been waiting for. The OP explained that the songs highlighted in yellow were the songs shown in the film. In this post it appears that almost all songs from the NCT U unit were not broadcast. It is alleged that this happened because SM Entertainment wanted to focus the content of the film on introducing NCT units and showing the hype of the concert by including the sound of Sijeuni’s screams in it so that the impression of the concert still felt real and deep. Not only that, it is also quite unfortunate that the film does not show behind the concert which usually tells how NCT was during the rehearsal process and sound check .
Indeed, it is quite a shame that many songs from the NCT U unit were not broadcast, considering that NCT Nation is a concert consisting of the full NCT team. Performances by units other than NCT U may be seen on other stages such as Music Bank, KBS Festival or Inkigayo, but not by NCT U units.
