What is the "Law of Attraction" and Does it Matter?

Hello, friends disumkum.com! This time I want to share about a concept that I often hear and read about in various media, namely the “Law of Attraction”. What the heck is that? And is it important for us to know and apply in our lives?

Law of Attraction concept

The Law of Attraction is a concept that says that we can attract what we think and feel into our reality. That is, if we think and feel positive things, then we will also attract positive things into our lives. Conversely, if we think and feel negative things, then we will also attract negative things into our lives. This concept is actually not something new. Many famous people have taught and applied this concept in their lives, such as Albert Einstein, Napoleon Hill, Oprah Winfrey, and others. They believe that by using the Law of Attraction, they can achieve their dreams and goals more easily and quickly.

Is the Law of Attraction Important?

Then, is the Law of Attraction important? In my opinion, the answer is yes. Because by knowing and applying the Law of Attraction, we can have more control over our lives. We can determine what we want and how to get it. We can also change our mindset and feelings to be more positive and optimistic. However, the Law of Attraction is not something that can happen automatically or instantly. We need to do some steps to make it work for us. Some of these steps are:
    1. Define what we want specifically and clearly.
    2. Make positive affirmations or statements that match what we want.
    3. Imagining or visualizing what we want as if it had happened in the present.
    4. Feeling positive emotions related to what we want, such as happiness, gratitude, confidence, etc.
    5. Letting go or convincing ourselves that what we want will definitely happen without doubt or worry.
    6. Act or take actions that support what we want.

By doing the steps above consistently and routinely, we can increase the frequency of our energy or vibration to be higher and in line with what we want. Thus, the universe will respond by giving what we want into our reality. However, what is the scientific/scientific view of the Law of Attraction?

View of the Law of Attracton scientifically

Is there scientific evidence to support this concept? The answer is not yet. The law of attraction has not been scientifically proven and is generally seen as pseudoscience. Some of the criticisms leveled at the law of attraction are:
    • The law of attraction is not in accordance with the laws of physics, especially the law of thermodynamics which states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change form.
    • Law of attraction does not take into account other factors that affect reality, such as environmental, social, economic, political, cultural, etc.
    • Law of attraction does not explain how the mind works in influencing reality. Is there a certain frequency or wave that the mind emits? How to measure or observe it?
    • The law of attraction does not provide valid and reliable empirical or experimental evidence. Much of the evidence claimed by proponents of the law of attraction is based on anecdotes, testimonials, or personal experience that cannot be verified objectively.
Even so, the law of attraction still has psychological benefits for some people, you know. Positive thinking can increase motivation, self-confidence, and mental well-being. In addition, positive thinking can also reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Therefore, the law of attraction can be considered as a way to improve the quality of life, as long as it is not used as dogma or absolute truth.
